TMNT 360
Next up! A 360 Video for Youtube featuring the Ninja Turtles!
- Mixing 2D animation, puppetry and CG animation for an immersive action-comedy short.
With the success of our Live event at San Diego Comic-Con we wanted to push the boundaries of what we could make with the Adobe Character Animation Puppets. My follow-up project was to make a 360 Video using as many of the assets as possible from SDCC (the puppets, the Maya environment, etc) and tell a story in an immersive way. As Creative Director I assembled a small team of in-house and freelancer animators and artists to create a 360 video for Youtube. It was our first dip into 360 and designed for a younger audience and with movement involved (physically turning to follow the action - but still works great using a mouse!). We wanted the viewer to be able to follow the action around the rooftop as an out of control droid, Shelldon, fired off lasers and chased the Turtles around the rooftop amid explosions and witty banter.
